This figure includes, 4,199 students. Placements in the three offices totalled 848 for the month, which compares to a total of 1,220 placements during JUIy. The majority of clients were registered in clerical, sales, service, xnaterial-handling, produet fabricating, assembling and repairing; and construction trades. During August, the grea- test employment opportini- ties existed in Accomodation and food services; personal services; retail trade; con- structioni and food and be- verage manufacturing. In August, there, were 44 agreements signed under the Canada Manpower Indus- trial Training Programn. As a' resuit, 50 people wil benefit fromn both training and' employment in Durham. At the end of August, there were 85 students in skill courses sponsored by the Canada Employment Centre and 35 people receiving aca- demic upgrading at Durham College. attitude towa ârd *heaithi.er.
