Ten-year-old Chris Don- nely placed first in all events in his age group to remain the club's top swimmer. In the girls' 10 and under category Janice Currie placed fîrst in the 100 metre freestyle and the 100 metre backstroke taking two seconds and a fourth place finish. MI Connor placed well with one first in the 100 metre f ly and two seconds in the 100 metre backstroke and 100 metre freestyle. Teammates Jodi Mac- Phail and Julie Leswick placed welI with one second a fourth and sixth place finish and a second, two thirds and a fourth place finish respectively. In the girls' 11/12 group Heather Ainsley placed two seconds, a third, fourth, fifth and sixth. Boys' 11/12 Kevin Walker had a strong meet winning firsts in the 100 metre backstroke and the 100 metre fly along with a third and two fo--,.ths. Peter Pfeiffer picked up two seconds, a third and a fifth while De.rek Hannan placed first in the 50 metre fly and won a second, third and two fifths. The Walker sisters did well in the girls' 13/14 category with Kim winning firsts in the 100 metre freestyle and the 100 metre backstroke and two seconds. Kelly picked up three second place finishes. Denise Van Dolweeerd The Fairport Beach school's boys and girls teamn captured first place in the Regional Junior Volleyball Championships held last w eek for the Durham Elementary Athletic Association at Anderson Collegiate in Whitby. Fi'e boys and fîve girls teams competed in a round robin series during the day- long competiti on. Waverly Street Public School and Vincent Massey (~- Oshawa), Whitby Senior Public School. Sunderland Public School and Fairport Beach t Pickering)i represented the boys seen here division. VolleybaÎl The girls' division was made up of teams from steams. Brian McAlinden won first place in the 100 metre' freestyle as well as two thir- ds and two fourths. Jari Ollikainen picked up one first in the 100 metre breaststroke and two thirds. Top boys' 13/14 swimmer was Steve Currie who won two firsts, in the 100 metre fly and the 400 metre I.M., and three second place finishes. Senior girls' swimmer Karen Jerepp picked up fir- sts in the 100 metre fly and the 100 metre backstroke as well as two seconds and a f ourth. and Fairpori Beach..- Finals for the champion- ship were best two out of three ganies. Fairport Beach beat Vin- cent Massey two straîght games to capture the title for the boys 15- 10 and 15-11. Dr. Robert Thornton met up with the girls' team from Fairport losing out in the finals. As of press time no scores were available for the girls' finals. The senior boys' strongest swimmer was David Goulding who placed first in the 400 metre freestyle and picked up four second place finishes. The club's next home meet will be the Winter Carnfival Invitational Meet on March 1 at Iroquois Park. ........
