To get tin the point however, we are diverging from this track and going to discuss eating out in your own backyard, a conservation park, or just about anywhere but a restaurant. Managers of local restaurants expect that more people will be doing things outdoors - it is that timne of year, and one has to enjoy the warmn weather and fresh air while one can. The backyard bar- becue has bècome a favourite cooking art over the past few years and today some people now do it the easy way by using gas barbecues. This gets rid of the smell and the smoke and you know the fire is going to do the job. Many families enjoy taking the small por- table barbecue to a con- servation park on the weekend, where dad can have fun pretending he is a chef , while mother reclines in the shade of a. tree and the kids run rampant ahl over the place. The real outdoor types will even cook over an open campfire, rather than a gas stove, while on a camping or hunting trip. This can be a lot of fun, or a plain pain in the neck, depending on whether or not you hap- pen to be the outdoor type. When you are flot cooking outdoors, you may want to escape from the heat of the kit- chen and summer weather by dining in an air-conditioned restau- rant. Many restaurants are offering luncheon specials during thxe summer, and featur e such items as salf.d plates, or other disho s suitable for hot weather appetites. ,THE CORPORATION 0F ~HE TOWN OF WH ITBY PROCLAMATION SENIOR CITUZENS' DAY TAKE NOTICE THAT June 24, 1981, is hereby proclaimed as "Senior Ctizens' Day" in and for the Town of Whitby.
