SUMMER CINEM A Tomorrow, the Whlt- by Arts Station wil be continuing wlth its Summer Cinema 181 program. At,3 p.n. two films wil be screened for children - "The Bear and the Mouse" and "Kidnaped -The Magic Horse." In the evening at 7 p.m. the Alfred Hitch- cock thriller "To Catch a Thief" starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly will be shown for an aduit audience. Admission is free. The station gallery is located at the corner of Victoria and Henry Streets. LAS VEGAS NIGHT Whitby Arts Incor- 'porated will be holding a Las Vegas Night Satur- day, July 25, as part of the County Town Car- nival celebration. Admission to, the event is $1. Everyone must be 19 years of age and over to attend. Las Vegas Night will run from 8:30 p.m. until 1a.m. CONCERT The Whitby Brass Band will be giving a concert at the Whitby Public Library on July 9 at 7:30 p.m. The library advises those wanting te attend this event to bring their own lawnchalrs. ART CLASSES Whitby Arts Incor- porated will be holding their Chlldren's Sum- mer Art Classes at The Station Gallery this surnîer starting July 14 and running through un- tI August 21. Lessons will be divided Up into two classes and two age groups, with each age group's class running three days. Cost for the program is $28 for members'and $35 for non-members. WESTERN DAYS "Western Days" will be the theme of the downtown mail to be held by the Whitby Cen- tral Business District Area Improvement Board on July 25 from 10 a.m. to 5p.m. The malt will see Brock Street closed to traffic from Coîbourne to Mary Streets. The event will feature entertainrnent by coun- try and western bands, wrist wrestling, a best legs contest, a dance demonstration by the Inta Leja School of Dan- ce, body painting, Andy Hathaway's balloon animals and a mechanical bull. Other activities will be announced at a later date. CHILDREN'S ART CLASSES The ltby Arts Station Gallery wII be holding chlldren's summer art classes. A session for chlldren aged 6 to 9 wlll be hel July 14 to 17 and July 21 to 24. The session for chlldren aged 10 to 13 will be held from Auguat 11ltol 4 and from August 1j8 to 21. LOYALIST LEGACY The Whitby Senior Citizens' Actlvity Cen- tre is sponsoring a tour of Prince Edward Coun- ty, Ontario on July 15 beglnning at 9 a.m. The tour includes sightseeing at Picton as well as visits to both the Ameliasburg Museum and the Prince Edward County Museum as well as lunch at the Inn on the Bay.
