This year's theme centres around the "Inter- national Year of the Disabled". The parade commit- tee under the direction of Whitby Jaycee Jim Bradfield hopes that this year's parade will be the biggest yet. There are already over 40 entries. One of this year's out of town guests will be the "Canadian Knights Drum and Bugle Corp"l ail the way from Peter- borough. As one of Canada's top bands, they have just corne. back from the big In- dependence Day Parade in Pennsylvania where they received top honors. Another drurn and bugle corp to make their first appearance in our parade will be the Car- dinal Cadet Corp from Scarborough. They have between 50 and 60 members. 0f course, the town's own Whitby Bras Band will be ap- pearing also. The parade to be held on Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.rn. will start at Gif- fard 'and Cochrane Streets, proceed south on Cochrane, -east on Highway 2 to Garden Street and up to Floren- ce M. Heard Public School. Any organization or business stili wishing to enter the parade, please contact Jirn Bradfield (668-3708) or Ken Thoms (668-7914) as soon as possible.
