The Parks and Recre- ation Department will be sponsoring a rodeo flea market beginning at 10 a.m. on the Satur- day (Septemnber 12) at the north-east corner of the Iroquois Park Com- plex. This event will feature a beer tent sponsored by the Big Brothers Asso- ciation, the Rotary Club's commissary and the mechanical bull as well as the sale of western wear. However, the high- light of the week will be the performances of the High Country Rodeo on September 12 and 13 at 2 p.m. on the grounds of Iroquois Park. The rodeo will corne to Whitby after finishing a stint at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). The rodeo itself will feature over 100 horses, ladies barrel racing, bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, caîf roping, bull riding, trick riding, trick roping, clown acts and much more. The cowboys of the rodeo will also be making appearances downtown throughout the week leading up to the rodeo itself.
