It was Har- vey's at 1216 Dundas Street East in Whitby. We were the guests of Pat Shannon, the manager, in fact Pat prepared our food. Pat bas been working in the fast-food business for nearly eight years now. She says she enjoys it and meeting the public. She told us thât like most new businesses, Harvey's here in Whitby started off with a bang and then slowed down for a time." Over the past year, business has been on the increase and she is pieased witb the way thinga have been going. The Whitby fran- chise opened in May, 1980 and today employs about 30 people. During the week the numbers coming in for lunch has expanded to the point where they are quite busy. They get business people, stu- dents from a nearby high school and in the evening the after- theatre crowds who want a quick bite before going home. Weekends there is quite a famîily trade and many children's birth- day parties are held. A cake is provided, and there are party favours and coupons for free hamburgers. You have to phone ahead if you are planning a party for your child. During the week Har- vey's opens at 10 a.mn., and il a.m. on Sundays. Fridays and Saturdays they stay open until 1 a .m.
