THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF WHITBY BY-LAW NUMBER 1287-81 BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NUMBER 1784 WHEREAS, The Municipal Council of The Corporation of the Town of Whitby, deems it advisable to amend By-law Number 1784. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED as a By-law of The Corporation of the Town of Whitby by the Council thereof as follows:- 1. Subsection (k) of Section 4 of By-law 1784 is hereby amended by adding the following additional paragraph: Where any new lots are created on either Plans 582 or 615 by virtue of a decision of the Land Division Committee of the Region of Durham one single famlly detached dwelling (unrelated to farming) may be erected and used on any such new lot providing the various zone and other provisions of this by-law are complied with. Schedule 3 STATEMENT OF CONFORMITY TO THE OFFICIAL PLAN FOR THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF DURHAM 1, Mofeed Michael, the Chief Planning Officer of The Regional Municipality of Durham, have reviewed By-law 1287-81 of the Town of Whitby. Blood donor 1.1n1e on Jan. 6 Whitby Red Cross will hold a Blood Donor Clinic, Wednesday, Jan- uary 6, at the Legion Hall on Byron Street South. The hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. Regular donors, please note this date is two weeks later than the previously scheduled time. Margaret Horton, the new blood donor chair- man hopes at least 325 donations will be re- ceived at this, the first of four 1982 clinics. A minimum of 375 people must attend the clinic to reach this goal. Always, some people are deferred for minor health reasons. Most people between the ages of 17 and 66 are healthy enough to give blood. They know how important the supply is for accident victims and surgical patients. They assume they'll neyer need blood themselves, but if they do, it will be available. That is not always sol Too fre- quently, patients have had to await vital sur- gery, sometimes for several months, because of an insuffi- cient blood supply. There's a special at- mosphere at a blood donor clinic. The blue- smocked volunteers are friendly, helpful and re- assuring to first-time donors. Donors radiate a special attitude, knowing theirs is a life- saving gift. Generally, it takes from 45 minutes to an hour to register, get tested, give your blood, rest and snack - all necessary procedures. Between 4 o'clock and 6 o'clock, there may be lineups due to half-staff- ing for the clinic crew's dinner hour. If you come then, allow a bit more time. Six regular blood donors will receive cert- ificates marking 35, 50 or in the case of Bryan Davies, 75 blood dona- tions. Congratulations to these six men. Start 1982 in the best possible way.
