The junior boys', basketball téam has made a strong come-back in its performance, and has gainèd victory over Ajax High School with a score of teams such as the Cel- tics, Lakers and Hosers - to name a few - take place during the noon hours. Anderson is hosting a January 27. Our teach- ers have been cha- enged to a wheelchair basketball game again- st a team of disabled players! Tihe team is reputed to be very pro- fessional. Se, look, out Flying Fathers will aid DO'C 49 to 25. The team is certain to maintain its per- formance in its upc ,oming game with -Cartwright High School.. Another sports event is the Flying Fathers' charity hockey game. They wil be playing against thé'CKEY Mikes at Iroquois Park Arena on January 25 at 8 p.m. Part of the proceeds.from this game will go to DO'C. The proceeds may soon be put to good use., Lately much ado has been apparent concerning the new school.-There will.be an information meeting held in the DO'C gym on January 20 a t 8 p.m. to inform the general public about the past, present and future '0f DO'C. The topics of the meeting will be financing Catholic schools with "Marg ,Durkin as speaker; The Durham Catholic Charitable Founda- tion with Father Thomas Melady as speaker; and The Progress Report on Plans for a New DO'C with the Chairmen of the Separate and Private School Boards as speakers. The meeting will hopefully clear up any, misconceptions about' the DO'C situa- tion and provide some encouraginghnews. The DO'C choir will be going on a tour of some of the surrounding schools on February 15 to 18. The choir will be performing for such schools as St. Leo's, St. Ber nadette's, St. John's, St. Francis de Sales, Our Lady of the Bayand many others. They will be featuring a Beatles' Medley and several other DO'C favourites.- Good luck to our chess club in their tournament of February il. The tournament will be held at G.L. Robert's High School in Oshawa. ,aweeKa ttLVU meI basketball game, An- derson will stage the Annual Winter Carni- val, on February 5. The seasonal event provides students with the oppor- tunity to escape from the mid-winter blues. This year's diversions include the Annual Snow Bowl, a football, game between . the .Grade- Twelves and Thirteens, a broombaîl garne pitt- ing the 'senior girls against the teachers, a toboggan race, as well as tricycle races bet- ween the teachers, and, of course' the crowning of the Snow Queen and Snow King. Some new events being'added to the festivities include the outdoor volleybal tournament,, the moon-, bal games and the teacher dress-up con- test.
