Co-wners of the shop, Peter Traicheff and Vasile Tsinokas,' volun- teeredý to do the cut-a- thon as a special event for the so ciety. Theyhad been in- volve d'in one. once before for cystic fibrosis and %were quite enthu- siastic about doinig one for the cancer society. - The two men have been partners in their shop now for 21/ years and pride them'selves o .n being a first class salon for men and women. As far as cancer society volunteers are concerned, Exclusive was certainly a first class«salon on Monday, April 5 when they cut 66 heads of hair for a return'of $700. Actually the final total was $695 but co-wner Traicheff provided an extra $5 to bring the' total Ito $700 laughingly -saying as he did so, "6I wish all Mondays were that busy!1' Says society volun- teer, Marg, Horton,' "it was a real co-operative effort. According to a spokes- man for the Durham Regional Police Force, a Nova was travel'1'ling westbound on Rossland Road when it was strtîck by a Chrysler travelling southbound on Thickson Road. The Nova came to rest in the north-west ditch of the intersection while the Chrysier came to rest in -the 'west ditch, the police said. The. driver of the Nova, Dale Forester, 16, of Oshawa was taken to the hospital with a, punc- tured lung. His passenger, Donald Daoust, 16, also of Oshawa, received 25 stitches to his right arm. The occupants of the Chrysier,- Charles King, his wife and two young daughters, of -Oshawa were not injured.
