The body of James Duncan Newlands, 20, of Agneî Street, Oshawa, was foundonMàrch, 20., Vin ýa*,home at the, bottom of Thickson Road South opposite Crystal Beach Road. He had been shot twi ce with a 12-gauge shotgun, once in the ab- domen and once in the back. At the. time the body was found, police said the victim had beçn dead for about four days. The Durham Regional Police Force arrested and charged Michael Matthew Davis, 19, of Cambridge -Court, Oshawa with first degree murder the foiiowing day. He was committed to stand trial on charges of second degree murder by a, provincial, court judge last week. .Defense attorney Bruce Affleck waived his right to a prelimi- nary hearing.
