BROOKLIN HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY The annual Ontario Horticultural Society Conven- tion was held at the University of Guelph on June 16, 17 and 18 with over 740 in attendance. Delegates from the B.H.S.-were Mary and Jim Pousego, Joan Brak and Aldine Wick. Several oth I.H.S. mem- bers also attended including Marh ,cath, Valerie Hundert, Don and Gord Wick, and Marg Wick. The volunteer ban- quet held annually, is to recognize and thank the aduilt volunteers who have been involved with the children and adults in the past year., Glenn Palmer receiv- ed "'theousadn volunteer of the year"I award and the WhitbY Jaycettes reeeived 4"the outstanding group of the year" award. The volunteer, asso- ciation awarded a $50 scholarship to Ruth Ami Palmner. The seholar- ship is awarded an- nuaily to, the- outstand- ing volunteer who, is pursuing a career ln a related health care field. Lou and Frances Palmer were also honored at the banquet. They received a silver tray in recognition of their contribution as parents of three child- ren who have been out- standing volunteers for many years.
