Funds raised wil go towards various Jay- cette community -pro- jects. CLASSES The Whitby Arts Sta- tion Gallery is offering two different art classes this summer. An uninstructed life drawing class will be held on Tuesday, July 13 and 20 and Tuesday, August 10 and 17 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Students should, bring their own drawing materials and will be for those people interested in drawing from professional, models wlth-no instruc- tioni. Cost is $22 for mem- bers' and $28 for non- members. The, gailery wii offer children's art classes from August 10 to 13 and August 17 to 20. The. session will in-' volve children in a program that offers the basiesin' drawing and painting skills.1 They will be introduced to a variety of media and encouraged to de velop. at their own pace. Whitbyý ambulance calis During the week that- ended at midnight last Thursday, the Whitby Ambulance- Service res- ponded'to 114 caîls for service. According to co-owner Bill Cocker, the service responded to 26 routine cails and to 48 standby calîs for other ambu- lance services in Oshawa and Ajax. The service also res- ponded to 40 emergency cails, including seven motor vebicle acci- dents. The number to eaR for ambulance. service is 723-5232. Help wanted Durham -Centre, *'a residential fadility for chidren and aduits who are mentaily retarded requires volunteers for their summer program. -Anyone 15 years of age or older, regardless of previous experience can participate as a volunteer.
