It began with a trip to Durhamn College on Nov- ember 9. A group of Grade il and 12 students toured the college hoping to get an idea of what college life is ail about. The complex im- pressed a great number of them. The excursion no doubt helped somne Grade 12 students de- cide whether or flot, to further their education here in the Durham Region. Also, coming to our sehool next week for presentations on, post- secondary education, are representatives from King's College, the University of Western Ontario, and St. Jerome's College, the University of Waterloo. Our Remembrance Day Service was held last Thursday, Novem- ber il. It was our first November il ever in the hallowed halls of Iearn- ing. The- presentation helped to open our eyes and deepen our aware- ness of the . nany thousands of people who gave up their lives so that we mîght live in. peace. Thank you to those who made the day special. The week ended with - you guessed it - report cards! What a way to start a weekend. The students found that not ail the exhibits were on' display as yet, since only part of the museum is open. It was- very crowded; therefore they found that they were rushed through. "Super, .Couples" started on Monday, November 8., "Super Couples" 'consists' of couples competing in a series of intramural sport at Iunchtime. This popular activity organized by the Athle- tic Association always' attracts many partici- pants and, generates much enthusiasm. A number of school> teams have ended their seasons. The Junior Boys' Volleyball team played in the COSSA Finals. This team came back to Anderson with a third place medal. The Senior- Boys' Volleyball team played at LOSSA. Even though the team did not get into the medal round the boys played extremely weIl in many games. The Snioer Boys' foot- ball teami ended its sea- son by losing to Done- van 30 to 0. Maybe next year, fellows! The boys soccer team ended its season by playing against the G.M. Old- timers. The team won this gamne 5 toi1. The goals were scored by Ron Cullen, Colin Feather, Darren Hogan and two goals by Harry MeCali. Gary Winkel assisted on four of these goals. Andy Wachon was very effective in the net, allowing only one goal. The team's record was four wins, four loss- es and two ties.'
