The main event of the carmi- val is the crowming of the King and Queen of the carnival. Other events include a volley- bail tournament, and egg toss, marshmaliow eating, a tricycle race and various winter re- lated activities such as a broombaîl game and toboggan races. We are ail hoping for at least some snow to put us in the spirit. On Feb. 4, The Mime Co. UnimiDted wil be performing George Or- weil's, The Crystal 'Spirit, for the English students., ýAs St. Valentine's Day is nearl'y upon us the Sehool Store is selling roses to raise money for the school. This will give the shy guys and girls a chance to send their secret flame a rose anonymously. Not to be outdone by the School Store, band members are seiling "'Cookie grams", to carry a "isweet" -message on Valentine's Day. The basketbail and voileybail season is in full swing at Anderson. The boy's basketbal teams also played at G.L. Roberts last week. The juniors played a most exciting game en- ding up the victors. The final score was 33-31; Steve Gibson was the high scorer of the game. The Lakers played re- turn matches at Ander- son on Jan. 27. The three girls' voileybail teams played at G.L. Roberts last week, with the junior team winning three games to one. They played their best match of the sea« son, with ail the girls at their peak. A good defence was their best asset. Although the midget and senior teams were unable to win their matches, both teams played a much improved game exhibit- ing great team effort. The senior girls came very close to winning their match, losing the final game by only two points. The girls played again on Wednesday in an ail- day tournament at Henry Street. The mid- get girls won eight out of 10 games placing second in their pool, just one point behlnd the first place team. The junior "A" girls tied for first place in their pool.
