The day began in its usual fashion except for the fact that the senior population was flot pre- sent. Wherewere they? At home on a study day. At 9 a.m. the juniors, dressed in unusual non- uniform attire, made their way to the gym where they were greet- ed by more than one hundred "littie people". They were the Grade 8's from our various feeder sehools corne to "Ispend a day at DO'C" to see what we are ail about. And the day was theirs! Lshered through eight twenty-minute classes, these students soon became acquain- ted with DO'C, its junior population, and its teachers. The day ended with a voileyball tourna- ment at 2:15 and then they once again boarded their buses and trekked back to their 'own schools. During the last hour of the day the Grade 9's and 1O's soc- hopped to the live music of the band, Double Take, a group of our own Grade il students. AMl and ail, it was agood day and we look forward to seeing familiar faces corne September. On the same day, the girls' vol leyball team traveiled to Clarke High School to compete in COSSA. The girls played, extremnely well and by the end of the round robin were, tied for fit-st place RHowever, -having too many points against them, they lost their fit-st place posi- tion. Congratulations to the girls on an outstand- ing effort, and thanks to coaches Featherstone and Clarke for a great season. The boys' soccer team has been invited to Play against a team from En- gland who wiil be visit- ing Henry Street High Sehool in late Mat-ch. The boys are looking forward to an exciting match. Mr. Arbour, our music teacher, is making 'the final decisions on concert soloists. Also, the choit-s are practising daily in preparation for the an- nual "lSpring Melody" in April.
