What with alI the excitement of having a big league contender in Toronto, alI the hullabaloo about George Brett and his "pine tarred bat", Dave Win- field and the case of the "Schznucked Seaguil" and last but not least the question of where the new dorne stadium will be built. Hats off to Regional Chairman Gary Herrema for his foresight in putting forth a bid to have the stadium built right here in Durham, specifically Whitby. Let's face it, we have ail the room in the world for such a facility within easy access of Toronto via the 401. The prestige alone would pay off great dividends flot to mention the jobs it would create for this area. I for one wiil keep my fingers crossed that this idea, like many of Itsapredéceor, does not go by the boards but becomes a realty. Off the subject a little, I got a kick out of -part commentator Joe Garagiola's story just at' t "Blue Jay" incident. He stated that a feilow in New York City was coming out with a T-shirt with a pic- ture on the front of Brett and Winfield. The caption underneath will read "'Tar and Feathers". See you next week...
