Officiating at the ser- vice wWl be the Rtv. Brian Gee, paster of St. Mark's United Church and the Rev. William Patterson, the last pastor -of Almonds United Chureh. Af ter the service, the Almond's Commumity Association will host a pot luck supper in the recreation hall of- Red- wing Orchards. Almonds United Church was closed in 1971 after it could no longer support itself financially. The 'church was originally build in 1837 and was in con- tinual use as a church until 1971 when the congregation moved to St. Mark's. The church was tomn down a few years ago. Pictured above is the cairn, a miniature of the original building with a bronze plaque describing briefly, its history behind it. T he cairn was built from materials salvaged from the church itself. The community association is still ac- cepting- donations for the Cairn Fund. Anyone wishing to make a donation is asked to mail it to: Mrs. M.
