Mississauga managed one more breakaway to squeak out a 14-13 win. Rich Dyment and Cor- nish scored four each for Whitby with singles by Mark, Napper, Passfield, VanSickle and Luke. VanSickle earned at least five assists. Mississauga con- tinued to easier games and won the Ail-Ontario 'A' Championshlp title with a final win 13-9 over Peterborough. These teams will meet again August 13-19 at the Canadian Champion- ships in Gloucester. ]Rai*ders take Li*ftlock The Peacock Farnily Sport Raiders have completed a mast suc- cessful summer hockey. season by winning the minor bantam cham- pionship of the Liftlock Summer Hockey Series which was held at the Kinsmen Centre in Peterborough. In the championship game, the Raiders defeated Toronto West- wood by a 6-2 score. Westwood got off to a good start in the game and were able to build a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by Harrison and Bodnarchuk. In the second period, the Raiders got their at- tack going as they scored four unanswered goals. Mark Hamilton led the way for the Raiders with two goals; Jaan a nd Scott Luik tallyed one each. With orly il seconds gone in the third period Jaan Luik scored his second goal of the game- ta give the Raiders a 5-2 lead. With a three goal lead, the Raiders used skating and good positional play to com- pletely staîl the West- wood attack for the rest of the game. The Raiders final goal was scored by Shayne Stevenson mid-way through the third period.* Prior ta the Liftlock Tournament. the Raiders won the silver medal in the Bay of Quinte Bicentennial Hockey series, held in Belleville. The WGR peewee No. 1 team played in 'B' division of the OMLA playdowns. They played consistantly by out- playing their opponents in the middle of the floor but too many shots went on the wrong side of the goal-posts.
