On Friday, Feb. 15, the Anderson dance committee hosted a Valentine's dance which proved to be a great success. The Anderson favorite, Herman Valckx, deejayed and everyone enjoyed the music. Scott Griffith played "priest" and 11married" a number of couples as a continuation of the Valentine's theme. Overaîl it was a great success and enjoyed by ail who attended. The following mor- ning, however, arrived a little too early for some of the girls who were to attend the midget girls' volleyball meet in Barrie. The Anderson divided into Junior fir- sts, Junior seconds and Midget squads, will be touring Wales and England for 14 days. The team, which has been preparing finan- cially and physically since last year for this tour, left Mar. 5 and travelling through Amn- Broxhourne and Fishguard until Mar. 21. Matthews is seen here being presented with a cheque for $1 ,000 by Greg Kane, past-president of the Oshawa club, and Blair Buchanan, vice-president of the Whitby Rotary. The clubs are selling 2,500 tickets for $100 a piece in the draw, the grand prize being a new home in nor- th Whitby.
