On their way to the championship, Whitby first defeated Ajax 5-2 on goals by Derek Young (2), Jeff Mon- taigue, Andre Marois and Matthew Muir, who was also named the game's most valuable playgr. Outreach needs more volunteers By NAOMI CLAYTON If you would like to be involved as a volunteer in a community organization that helps children, then Outreach needs you. For the past two years Outreach, ' Women's Action Group Road work approved The reconstruction of Burns St. between Henry and Annes Sts. will cost the Town of Whitby $247,029. Whitby Town Council bas awarded the con- tract for the project, stlato t ube and gutter, storm sewers, a granular road base and a bot mix asphaît, to Novacor Construction of Queensville, Ont. The project will in- clude some im- provements to the Region of Durham's water delivery system in the area. Approximately 390 metres of road on Burns St. will be rebuilt over a ten week period. The total cost of the project is about $290,000, bowever, it will be fun- ded not only by the Town but also by the Region, Bell Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Transpor- tation and Com- munications as well. (Durham), a non-profit organization, has been involved in child sexual abuse prevention and education and our materials have been sent as far away as British Columbia and Newfoundiand. As a result, our need for volunteers is greater than ever. We especially need people to assist with our streetproofing workshops, artwork for books and programme materials, our drop-in centre and in the office. We will be holding an orientation night for volunteers tomorrow (April 11) at Southmin- ster United Church, 1173 Cedar St., Oshawa from 7 to 9 pm.
