On June 14, staff from the Whitby Public Library will be at the Oshawa Shopping Cen- tre promoting the library and the anniver- sary. We will also be displaying Janet McGhee's painting "Whitby Marina" and selling draw tickets for the same. Draw will be taking place at the library on the evening of the anniversary. There wiil also be a one week trip for two to the Bahamas drawn on Thursday evening at the Wintario Draw at Port Ferry High School. BARN BUILDING BENEFIT There will be Barn Building Benefit for Henry and Wilma De Wolde of R.R.1, Ash- burn on Wednesday, June 18, The De Woldes lost their barn and many of their pigs last month. There will be a bake sale beginning at 1: 30 p.m. at the Ashburn General Store and in the evening an Old Fashioned Strawberry Social will take place in the Burns .Presbyterian Church. Cost of the social is $3 per person. Donations for the bake sale may be left at the Ashburn General Store any time after 9 a.m. the morning of the sale (no muffins, please) - Donations for the De Wolde family can also be lef t at the store or with the Bank of Commerce in Brooklin.
