RYRIE -' Durham Co-ordinator Durham Regional Crime Stoppers is asking for the assistan- ce of the public in iden- tifying a suspect who at- tacked and sexually assaulted two females and tried to attack two others in North Oshawa during August, 1984. The first attack oc- curred on August 6 at 8:55 p.m. near the 7-11 Store at Mary St. and Nonquon Rd. when an armed masked man ap- proached two young women. As lie forced them at gunpoint towards a secluded area he was friglitened off by another man who was walking on the old Nonquon Rd. near St. Gregory's Cemetery. Shortly after this, a young girl was accosted by a masked man who forced her into a nearby field and sexually assaulted her at gun- point. The third attack oc- curred the next day at about 3:40 p.m., when a masked man, commit- teed a viclous sexual assault at gunpoint on a woman in the same area. This crime will be re-enacted and shown on CITY T.V. on Thur- sday, July 3, 1986 at 6 and 10 p.m. and on Friday, JuIy 4, it wilI be shown on CHEX and CKVR TV. It will also be profiled by newspapers and radio stations which cover our area. The suspect in these crimes is described as 5'6" to 511l", about 160 lbs. and average build. Athough hle wore dif- ferent clothing on each occasion he carried a grey blanket with a green stripe. It is suspected that the same person was responsible for these attacks. He was wearing a black mask with eye holes only and carried a long barrelled gun resem- bling a revolver. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 to anyone providing in- formation which leads to an arrest in these cases. Amounts of up to $1,000 will be paid for tips leading to an arrest in any serious crime.
