Rogers. and Worthy Patron Uen Waltham. Grand Benevolent Officers, Past District Deputy Grand Matrons were present. 20 Past Matrons, il Past Patrons of Whitby Chapter were given a birthday welcomne, as were many Past Matrons and Patrons of many visiting chapters, and visitors and Whitby members were aIso welcomed. Nine chartered members were welcomed and were honowed tositlin the East. After business was conducted, one member was presented with her 50_year pin and two with their 25 year pins. Sister Ama Pldley, Pearl Roper, Saily and Bea Jones were made life members, Sister Aima Ridley was the ffrst Matron of Whltby Chapter 37 years ago. Sister Florence Moorefield P.D.D.G.M. of York Chapter was made an honorary menMber of Whitby chapter. T'hese were, very eftj6yable, memnorable momenta, and ail were given a standing ovation. Worthy Matron reminded the members of the an- nual Church service to ta held at Audley Church on Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. After chapter closed, enter- lalnument was very enjoyable wth Sister Jean Sim- pson giving solos and then the men acted out the dif- ferent charities to whlch we had donated through the years such as cancer, heart, dietatic, Dr. Ruddy Hospital, Whtby Library, and the Children's Wish Foundation. -The sololst closed wlth "'Count Your Blessinga".. Lunch and blrthday cake was served by Sister Phylils Tompklns and her committee. The chapter closes for the summer and will resume agate in Sep- tember.
