The try-outs are designed to select the 24 best soccer players in each of the recognized age groupa - under 15 boys, under 14 boys, un- der 12 boys and under 16 girls - for participation in the winter-Iong program which begins November 2. Throughout the winter the selected players will participate in the regional provincial tournaments while developing their soccer skills through the programn. At the program's conclusion in April 'the best players wil be chosen and in- vited to join the Ontario provincial under 14 boys, under 15 boys and under 16 girls teams. The program will run each Sunday (except during the month of Decemnber) at Durham College,.Simcoe St. N. in Oshawa. Players par- ticipatlng wlll pay a $30 registration fee to offset the costs of gym time and equipment. Per- sonal equipment should include a track suit, warm jacket, head gear, shorts, shirt, socks and soccer boots. The remaining try-out dates are at Lakeview Park on Sirncoe'St. S. in Oshawa. Candidates should arrive at least 30 minutes before the try- outs to register and are advised to be dressed according to the season. To qualify under 16 girls must bo bora on or after January 1, 1971; under 15 boys on or after August 1, 1972; under 14 boys on or after 'August 1, 1973 and under 12 boys on or after August 1, 1975. The remaining try- outs will be held on the following dates at the times specified: Friday, ,October 17: under 16 girls - 7 to 9 p.m., under 15 boys - 9 to 11lp.M.
