Being installation night, worthy matron Beverley Rogers and worthy patron Len Waltham presided over the business part followed by the wortby matron relinquishing her gavel to become a past matron. The worthy matron welcomed the grand of- ficers, past grand patron, district deputy grand matron. Worthy matron and patrons from varlous chapters, 35 past matrons of the Whitby chapter and 19 past patrons were welcomned most sincerely, as were members and visitors. It was a great bonor to welcome Ellen Hailstones, a visitor from Scotland. A poem by Helen Styner Rice was read. Worthy matron Beverly Rogers expressed ber thanks in beautiful verses to ber officers and al ber committees for helping ber so diligently and making ber year so successful. A motion was made tbat the chapter pur- chase a poppy wreath as usual and that the worthy matroni present tbis wreatb at the cenotapbi on Nov. il. Tis wil be a first, as the wreath bas, in the past, been presented by one of the brothers.
