Located at the corner of Perry and Dundas Streets is the new site for Whitby Towne Centre being developed by Delaware Investments Limited, headed by Rob Egan. Mr. Egan plans for thîs two phase project are very excitmng and again display the Victorian era architecture. The developer has been receiving many inquiries fromn excellent businesses who view this as an ideal location dueto its close proximity to the post office, banks and Cor- porate Centre. The totalsquare footage is 49,000 which will be divided up according to the needs of its new tenants. Whitby Towne Centre is expected to be ready by middle to end of May. Mr. Egan stated that some of the units have been leased already. Byron Street Soutb is also becoming an active development area as the Sorichetti Group have recently constructed a new building to -bouse professional offices. Van Dueson and Van Dueson, a chartered accountant firm, have moved into the one building where there is still some available space on the main and sub floors. Dr. Ramson, a dentist, is occupying another new building south of this.- Both buildings display character, and,-appeal in. their design and blend in nicely witb the surrounding en- vironment. An existing home in the same block has been converted into an office which also adds to the overail character of the area.ý The Sorichetti Group are currently preparing to do facade improvements in the spring to their existing offices also located at this site.. Another new addition to the downtown will be wit- nessed very shortly as a four storey medical clinie will be built by CMD Incorporated. The ail brick structure will be higblighted with in- teresting features to blend in with its surrounding environent. The builders expect this Dundas site will be completed by November of this year. It is evident that the downtown is becoming a hot spot for development and with the care being placed in the architectural design of these new structures, the downtown is expanding in a quality manner.
