Actually it is the stage at Henry Street High Sehool, but for the 18 boys that belong to the club, the dungeon is a place where they sharpen their slills. "Most of the kids corne out to have fun, and then they get hooked on the sport, " says Smith. The 18 members range in age from 9to.15. Smith started the club by him- self a year ago. Two months into the venture, the Whitby Optimist Club became a sponsor. '"They help with unjforms, gym rentais, clinics and tournaments - they're just great," acknowledges Smith, 21. The club's birth had a lot to do Iwith a data- processing course jtaken by Smith at Durham College. Rck Holter..............i Travelicade will visit local sehools Ontario's " sports travelcade, which holds day-long clinics in various sports, will be visiting three Whitby elemtN1tary schools this month. The travelcade, now in its l3th year under the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation, will be at E.A. Fairman on Feb. 18 for one clinic in basketball and four clinicsin gymnastics. Travelcade instruc- tors will be at Palmer- ston Public School on Feb. 19 for gymnastics and basketbail, and at F.M. Heard Public School on Feb. 24 for gymnastics. The Whitby school clinics are part of a tour of Durham Board of Education schools which began this week and ends March 3. The travelcade program is provided at no cost to the board. Blair Mcîntosh, program spokesman, says there was a "lgood response" when the travelcade visited Durham Region schools last year.
