Whitbyhad managed only a tie in four games with, Newmarket during the regular season. But with strong goaltending by Drew Kawa and Mike Mitchell, Whitby won the playoff sertes two games to one. Mike Garton and Brian Duff scored in a 24 Whitby win in the opening game Feb. 21.
