Those par- ticipating will meet a bus at HeydenshQre which will take them to Lynde Shores. RED CROSS Whitby Red Cross will hold their annual meeting on Tuesday, May 12 at the Whitby Public Library auditorium, 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. There will be viewing of October 1986 videos which detail the work the Red Cross has been doing inter- nationally, in conjunction with other worldwide organizations. CRAFT FESTIVAL The seventh annual Whitby Festival of Crafts and Supplies will be held at Iroquois Park arena May 1, 2 and 3. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $1.50 (children under 12 free). There will be 130 booths of crafts and supplies. OPEN HOUSE An open house will be held at Immanuel Christian School on Wednesday, April 29, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. All are welcome. Grandparent's Day will be held April 27 at the school, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. GYM OPENS Staff, previous students and the public are invited to attend the of- ficial opening of the new gym- nasium at R.A. Sennett Publie School. Representatives from the province, Mayor Bob Attersley and school trustees wil be on hand. The ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 30. R.A. Sennett is located at 300 King St. ANNUAL BIKE RIDE Whitby Kiwanis will hold their lth annual bike ride for cancer research on May 2 at 10 a.m. There will be free hot dogs and pop for all participants after the ride. Sponsor sheets are available at all Whitby banks, the Whitby Public Library, Beaver Gas Station and Lovell Drug Store. Canadian Tire in Whit- by and Bicycle City of Oshawa will donate bicycles. SEMINAR The Creation Science Association of Ontario will hold a seminar on Friday, May 1 at 7 p.m. in the King St. Pentecostal Church, 611 King St. W. in Oshawa, with John Mackay of Australia and an award-winning documentary with Dr. Wilder- Smith, Europe's most prominent creationist. Mackay, a former science teacher, is a founding director of the 1iustralian Creation Science Foundation and editor of the creationist magazine 'Creation- Ex Nihilo'. FLEA MARKET The Grade 8 class at Kathleeni Rowe Memorial Public School is basting a flea market on Satur- day, May 9, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Proceeds from the event go towards Grade 8 class trip to 4Quebec City at the end of May. CONCERT On April 30, local music students Johanna Tito, Alexis Patton, Christina Hirons and Yoony Choi will perform in the Young Artist Recital sponsored by the local branch of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers.
