Walter and Betty Lothian of Whitby again had a top finish, emerging as runners-up. Third were Mary Partridge and Gladys Brown of Whitby and fourth were Olaf and Marion Nielsen of Whitby. Bridge competition was held in May in Oshawa. Events in June in- clude progressive euchre in Ux- bridge, golf at the Avren Links Golf Course, horseshoe pitching in Port Perry, lawn bowling In Oshawa, shuffleboard in Oshawa and snooker in Oshawa. Keith Primeau has followed another Coulton Court, Whitby resident as a member of the Hamilton Steelhawks junior A hockey team. Primeau, 15, who feli a point shy of a 200-point season in 1986-87, was picked in the fourth round of the junior draft held Saturday. "I heard rumors I was going to be picked," says Primeau, who was thrilled to be following neighbor and friend Brad Dalgarno to the Steelhawks. "I'm looking forward to it," he says of training camp which begins in September. "There will be no pressure there like there would be playing in Oshawa." Dalgarno, who now lives in Hamilton, will be tryinig to earn a place on the New York Islanders roster. He's a big forward for the Steelhawks, one of the top Ontario junior teams last year, just behind North Bay. And the Steelhawks selected Primeau to gain more size, the ingredient they want more of to have a good 1987-88 season. Primeau stands six-foot, two in- ches taîl and weights 182 lbs. Ia 89 games for the Whitby major ban- tams over the past season, he scored 98 goals and add'd .101 assists. He was the sixth player taken in the fourth round.* Just finishing his Gr. 10 year at Anderson CVI, he'll go to school in Hamilton next year. 'II have a lot of -relatives duownVIJ that way, " he says. For the summer, Primeau will attend the Ontario under-17 team hockey camp in London. Bantam teammate Brian Mueggler will join him. If successful there, both will at- tend a five-day camp in Ottawa during August where the final 17 *players chosen will make Up the Ontario team ia an international 10-team tournament to be held around Christmas.
