Seniors reach goal Whitby Seniors' Activity Centre members achieved their objective during National Physical Activity Week by collectively walking 653 miles. The Whitby seniors, led by the Town Crier, held an Elderobic Moonwalk on June 2, from the Seniors' Centre to downtown Whitby and back. Warriors wear Pipr' number on. sweaters Whitby Warriors ended the week with a 7-5- record in Junior A lacrosse after losing to Brampton' on Wednesday then rebounding to defeat Bay Area and Etobicoke later ithe week. Coach Bryce Jordan described the defeat to Brampton, 16-13 at Iroquois Park last Wednesday, as the worst game the teamn has played this year. "We didn't play with any desire and hustie. Brampton picked up al the loose bails," he said. Warriors returned home on Friday defeating Bay Area1 16-7, then travelled to Etobicoke on Sun- day coming home with a 19-6 win. The team was wearing black arm bands at Friday nights' game- in honor of John Pipher. Pipher, a member of the Warriors died last week, following injuries he sustained in a motor- cycle crash. Jordan says the team wil wear a small number*25, Pipher's number, on their sweaters the rest of the season.
