Al have had to be declined because the school is presently unable to provide them with ac- commodations. Banks met with • architects on Tuesday and after a later meeting with the school's parents' group, will have an idea of when construc- tion of the permanent school building will commence. Quest had an enrolment of 145 students from kindergarten to Grade 13 last year, many coming from as far as Mississauga to the west and Cobourg to the east. Banks anticipates enrolment for the next school year to be from 140- 150. The school is going into its sixth year of operation. "When I started the school from Scarborough I had no idea how suc- cessful it would be," she said. "On- ce it was established for the younger children, there were so many requests to open it up for the senior grades, it has really snowballed." Quest pruchased a 46-acre parcel of land at Highway 2 and Regional Road 23 last year with the inten- tions of relocating the school. However, there were problems with funding for redevelopment of the land. They have since sold the property and used the monies received to purchase the harlander site. paren- ts had raised around $1 million for the original purchase and although this has been used to buy the new land and portable classrooms outright, there remains the question of raising funds for a per- manent building. Banks indicated furnishings from the present site will start' to be moved to the new location on July 1 and all should be in ready when the aew school year starts on Septem- tLr14.
