Brooklin Redmen rep tykes defeated Toronto Beaches 7-2. A hat trick was scored by Darryl Lewis, two by Ken Belanger and singles by Paul Gray and Kurt Kerner. Brooklin Kinsmen rep novices defeated Mississauga 4-2. Single goals were netted by Matt Ar- mstrong, Mike Deblois, Adam Ar- mstrong, and Frank Littlejohn. In tournament play on the weekend Whitby novices made a good showing at- Burlington defeating Six Nations 6-3 and Hamilton 6-4 before losing to Burlington 8-2. Oshawa i thrashed by Ottawa frish 47m3 in rugby. action The Oshawa 1 rugby teamn was thrashed 47-3 by Ottawa Irish in a game Saturday, June 13 at Lakeview Park in Oshawa. The Oshawa team, which is com- prised of 13 Whitby residents and three from Oshawa, plays in the Toronto Rugby Union. Jeff Moskaluk, who plays on the team, says there are a dozen teams in the Toronto league which also supports a secondary league, similar to the English soccer league. Beer tent approved A beer tent fundraising event by employees of the Whitby jail has been approved by Whitby council. The tent will coincide with a basebaîl tournament the employees are holding at Iroquois Park. (il) to prepare a master concept plan for the planned open space surrounding the Whitby Harbour and along the lake shore area between the Harbour mouth and Heydenshore Pavillon - (iii> to prepare a concept plan for the future administrative, service, commercial and storage facilities required to serve the Port Whitbv Marina. The purpose of the public meeting is to present a final draft Master- plan for the study area to the generai public for public input. This is the second public meeting for this study.
