Yorston won the 110 meter hur- dies for junior men. The Henry Street High Sehool star, who plans to attend the University of Toronto, is ranked eighth in Canada and has a personal best of 14.68 seconds for the hurdie event. Bacchiochi, another Henry star performer, won a silver in the 110- metre hurdies at the Ontario meet. Bacchiochi, who also plans to at- tend the University* of Toronto,. is ranked sixth nationally and recen- tly ran the third-fastest time ever for a juvenile age women com- petitor in Canada for the 100-metre hurdies. She won gold at the On- tario meet as a member of a relay team. Her personal best is 13.89 seconds for the distance. Tykes win two in tournamn The Cobi Food tyke ail-star teamn had a successful week winning two of three games in Clarkson, then splitting a pair in regular season, play. In the first game of the Clarkson tourney Whîtby crushed Toronto Greenwood 15 toi1 bçhind the strong arm of Chris Mace afid the big bats of Darryl Wright and Tim Imeson. Wright had two bits and Imeson drove in four runs in the one-sided c .ontest. Other hitters included Mace, Jeremy Schott, David Par- tlow, Mike Annes and Jamie Difiore. The next game pitted Whitby against Ajax, their season namesis, and once again true to form, Ajax squeezed out a victory by one run in the final inning. Tim Imeson pit- ched a, solid game in a losing cause and Innes did the only damage at the plate smashing a double and driving in a run. One of the game highlights was a d ,..ble play in the sixth inning. The tykes closed out the weekend with a vengeance, pouncling Belleville 18-10. Mace came on in relief of Rai Gandhi to record his second win of the tournament. Both Gandhi and Mace were a big part of the offence but the big hitter was Jarnie Pawluk with two bases- loaded triples and seven RBI's on the day. Whitby's next game saw them in test where they lost 9-6. The tykes rebounded the very next night, hammering Pickering 14-4 behind the pitching of Clay and Gandhi. Wright and Gandhi had two bits a piece while Difiore and Schott banged out triples in the lop- sided victory. The tykes have one more gamne before heading into the EOBA finals in Bowmanville over the long weekend.
