Different from conventional hor- se tracks, a quarter horse track is 'J' shaped, consisting of a quarter- mile straightaway with the only curve occurring in the run-out sec- tion after the finish line. Sunday July 26 was Ajax Day at Picov's, highlighted by the runnilg- of the Ajax Derby,. a 440-yd. race for three-year-olds sponsored by the Town of Ajax.
