A push for touriis.m With the unveiling of abright new logo and what appears to be a widely-based declaration of sup- port, Durham Region's new -and organizers hope, improved -tourist association was created last week to promote the area tourism industry. "We can make something hap- pen,- David Gould, chairman of the tourism development steering committee, told about- 100 who at- tended the Oct. 8 meeting at the Holiday Inn in Oshawa. Edwards was commenting on a recommendation from the Town's public works department that the Town enter into an agreement with *Canada Post for the installation and maintenance of community mailboxes. The agreement stipulates that Canada Post will look after snow *clearing, sanding, litter pick-up -an 'd liability insurance covering bodily harm and property damage of not less than $10,000. Canada Post will also repair or repaint any damaged -boxes with 48 hour notification fromn the Town. Council was to vote on the recommendation Tuesday night, after The Free Press deadline.
