She downed Sonya Natola of Dun- barton 7-5, 5-7 and 6-3 in' the final. Carr had previously won the LOSSA title for Durham Region sehools. Mike Primeau, the team's coach, describes his team as "a good team with goad habits." Whitby won 7-2 against Pickering, with great goaltending fromn Steven St. Amand. Brooks scored two goals and assisted on two others, while Wayne Primeau scored two and assisted an one. Andre Marois and Paul Dillon each pickedup one goal and one assist and Chi and- Adam Parks scored single goals. Racicot had two assists and Mike Hogan and Jeff Montigue each picked up one assist. Whitby played a tight match against Oshawa, losing 3-2. Kelly Grey was in net.- Dillon scored Whitby's first goal assis ted by Marais and Gavin Tackney. Their second goal was score,. unassisted by Parks. Whitby won their second league game Sunday against Belleville with St. Amand in 'goal. Both Marois and Primeau scored two goals while Parks scored one and picked up an assist. Dillon assisted on two goals while Jim Brown'. Jon Racicot. MonfigUze and Troy Wastle each had one assist. "They're stili getting to know me and I'm stili getting to know them," says Primeau who is coaching he major atoms for the f irst time. "I'm used ta coaching the older boys sa it takes a little time," he explains. "We have good boys and two gaod goalies. We have three balanced lines, a good ail-round team. As for the fùture, l'it is still to early ta tell," says Primeau. The Whitby team seeks ta repeat last year's finish as ali-Ontaria AA champions. Brooklin Cycle holds first place with 1.5 points aller deleating The Peewees Nwm*tournament The Whitby minor peewee rep AA teamn spent the Thanksgiving weekend at the Terry Terrier hockey tournamnent in Mississauga and came home as champions. The first game Friday night saw Whitby win 3-1 aven the home teamn Mississauga Terriers with goals fram Davrid Lylyk, assisted by Paul Moore; Mark Babony unassisted; and Brian Medeiros, assister4 by Scott MacDoneil and Lylyk. Whitby then beat East Gwillim- bury in, a ývery close 1-0 gamne, with Whtby' lone goal sÉcored lý Ian Armour, assisted by Babony.' Whitby's only loss came in the third game ta the London Sabres by a score of 3-1. Whitby's goal was scored by Paul Leclair and assisted by Cameron Paland. Advancing ta, the semi-finals, Whitby defeated the Hillcrest Summits in a tension-filled 6-5 game, featuring a 10-minute sud- den-death overtime and then a shoatout. Whitby's regulation time goals were scored by Babony, assisted by Jamnie Allisan; and Sandy Cohen, assisted by Medeiros. In the shootaut goals were by Mac- DonelI, Cohen, Lylyk with the win- ning goal by Moore. In the closely played champion- ship gama, Whitby played 'S t. Thomas ta i 1-0 win with the Whitby goal scored by Babony with the assist from Cohen. Whitby's two goaltenders.
