Custom gift store opens in Brooklin An unusual business has opened its doors in Brooklin, one which is sure to be an asset to the village's business community. The Creative Basket at 4 Roebuck St. offers a unique service, particularly for those who are wracking their brains to find the perfect gift for those hard-to-buy-for people on their shopping lists. Living up to its name, the store ofl'ers custom gift baskets for aIl occasions and madle to the customer's specifications. No item will be enclosed unless specified. The shop is now gearing up for the Christmas season, but the baskets can also be used for a variety of celebrations. There's one for the newborn baby containing a piggy bank, handmade soother bibs, little shoes and baby lotions. Then there is one for housewarmings which can be customized for the kcitchen, bath, or any other room. Birthday or anniversary baskets might include a selection of gourmet foods, a lady's luxury bath or a specialized sports basket for the man in your life. For 'children, a bubble gum machine filled with treats. The basket of surprises doesn't necessarily have to corne in a basket. The Creative Basket will also I decorator tins, bags and even candle baskets. They have special deals for corporations and businesses for promotions and thank you gifts. According to its active partner Debbie Begg, Brooklin was chosen as an ideal location because it was central in the region. And The Creatîve Basket delivers, not only locally, but across Canada if necessary. Begg is married and lives in the Uxbridge area. The mother of three has always been involved in the arts-related field and anticipated hier new business will be a success. The store is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Next Sunday, Nov. 29, the sacrament of holy communion will be celebrated, the first advent candle will be lit, and the Jackson memorial window will be dedicated. The congregation is invited to stay after church on Sunday, Dec. 6 to make Christmas symbolà which will be used in the Christmas celebration on Sunday, Dec. 20. Bring a sandwich, soup, coffee and tea will be provided. You. will be on your way by 2 p.m. On Christ the King Sunday, Nov. 22, three babies were baptized after being introduced to the congregation by Dr. Allan Stocks, chairman of the membership committee.
