"A Guide to the Landlord and Tenant Act" focuses on residential rental units and aspects of the Act dealing with such issues as leasies, security deposits, evictions, sublet- ting, and repair and maintenance of apartments. Staff at 21 local rent review offices located throughout the province field some 50,000 inquiries a year about landiord and tenant matters. More than hall of the questions are about issues that the Landiord and Tenant Act covers. The Act was amended last June to extend protec- tion to roomers, boarders and lodgers. Job outlook is br*ýIht The job outlook appears bright for the next few months, according to a survey of Oshawa and area em- ployers. Thirty-nine per cent of employers' responding to the quarterly em- ployment outlook survey conducted by Manpower Temporary Services indicate hiring intentions as op- posed to just three per cent planning tocutb ack. Fifty-two per cen t expect no change in current employee levels and six per cent are unsure of future plans. Need nominees for volunteer award The Durham- Region -District Health Council is seeking nominees for the Volunteer of the Year award. Volunteers who have made significant contributions to health care delivery, education or planning are being sought by council.
