He returned in 1924 as an MP for East Waithamstow and was made Baron Greenwood of Lianbister, County of Rachior, in 1929 on his retirement from the Comnions. H -is wife Margo, a gifted artist and influential person in ber own right, was bonored with ýa Companion of the British Empire in 1929. With Greenwood's baronectcy, lie took a seat in the House of Lords, as a Conservative and was appointed Treasurer of the Conservative Party in 1933. Viscountcy was given to Greenwood in 1937, when be was styled Viscount Greenwood of tbe county of London. He resigned bis treasury post in 1938 and took the position of presidenit of British L'on and Steel. He spent bis last years travelling witb bis wife, and it was during this time that lie presented a stained glass window to Ail Saints' Anglican Churcli in Whitby on a. return visit to Canada.
