The exhibition -comprises '88 drawings.encompassing almost 40 year of artistic activity, from early academic student exercises to the fully realized, iconogra- phically - complex drawings of recent yoars. The nature of the drawing medium reveals the creative imagination of the artist. More than haîf the exhibition is devoted to drawings alonein the sixties, a large numbor of which wore executed during oxtondod sojourns in Provonce and Majorca, and relate te Frasor's large expressionistic canvasses, of. that period. 0f considerable inspiration to Fraser were the reed pen drawings done by Van Gogh during his stay in Ailes between 1888 and 1889. Fraser's preoccupation witb the outside environment in the early sixties Was also focused upon bier city of Hlalifaxc, rosulting in a series of cemetery drawing and coastal studies. The drawings of the-.70's were inspired by the Surrealist artiste Max Ernst and Rene Magritte. In the 1980s, winters spent in Mexico bave croated works depicting the menacing aspect of the country's exotic tropical vegetation. The existing transformer facilities are reaching their maximum capacity levels and addi- tional facilities -are required by the faîl of 1991. The station will reduce incoming high-voltage power to voltages suitable for distribution to local customers.
