A small, rather unobtrusive building located on Dundas St. W. hides one of Wihitby's best kept secrets --a family-run restaurant offering French- continental cuisine and, surpxisingly, an informai environment. Owner and chef John Seferlis has had 25 years of experience in preparing French and continental cuisine at the Westbury Hotel in Toronto, Maxim's de Paris in Chicago, and a previous family-run restaurant. La- Petite is a "semi-retirement" venture for Seferlis and bis family helps te run the operation. If there is a problemn with the food or the atmosphere, the owner says he gets comments from his fanuily directly, unlike the large franchises where complaints run through a series of 'bureaucratic" channels with usually- no significant resuits. Tena 's Diner: By DERBIE LUCRUK Tena's Diner, located on Brock St. N. just north of the four corners, offers a 'down east," homey atmosphere with home cooking. "When there are several tables full of Newfoundlanders here, you cari have a really good time," says owner Tena Byvelds. Diners enijoying the home cooking are often drawn into the general conversation.
