"Echoes" are musical highlights from past Youth group shows which have been integrated into an original script by artistic director Henry Schregardus. The show will be Theatre to hold reunion The Whitby Courthouse Thea- tre will hold a reunion of former and current Youth Group mem- bers on Saturday, June 25, 7:30 p.m., at the Centennial building in Whitby. A special performance of the summer production, "Echoes," a musical comedy about the Youth Group and its shows, will be presented as part of the evening. First time and enthusiastic producer is Boyd Tattrie with David Stone as assistant to the producer. Henry Schregardus assumes the role of artistic director after his successful directorial debut in last season's Wait Until Dark. Evert McIlwain, who appeared as Curly in this season's successful "Oklahoma!," is musical director with Deb Smith-Schregardus as choreographer. The cast includes youth members from Whitby and surrounding region. Cameo appearances by adult members of the Courthouse Theatre pronise an evening of entertainment for all. "Echoes" will include songs from past shows which include "Alice in Wonderland," "L'il Abner," 'The Wizard of Oz,' "Bye Bye Birdie," "Anne of Green Gables" and "Youre a Good Man Charlie Brown." The performance on June 25 will culninate in a reunion of past and present youth members in the theatre after the evening performance. Curtain time is -7.30 p.m. on June 23, 24, 25 at the Centennial Building, 416 Centre St. S. There will be a 2 p.m. matinee on June 26. ONTARIO GOVERNMENT NOTICE GO TRAIN EXTENSION STUDY WHITBYTOOSHAWA BACKGROUND As part of the GO Train service expansion program, the Government on Ontario is currently extending GO Train service from Pickering to Whitby. This extension is scheduled for completion in the Fali of 1988. A study to assess the further extension of GO Train service from Whit- by to Oshawa is now nearing completion. This study is a joint Provin- cial/Municipal undertaking involving the Ministry of Transportation, GO Transit and Durham Region. Previous Public Information Centres for the project were held in June and November 1987. The November. series of Information Centres presented the recommended route for the Whitby to Oshawa GO Train extension. Subsequent to an up- coming third round of Public Information Centres, the project wili be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment for consideration under the Environmental Assessment Act of Ontario. CURRENTSTATUSOFTHE PROJECT Preliminary Design of the recommended route for this GO Train exten- sion project has now progressed to the point where specific details, including property impacts, have been identified.
