The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4. The route will be southbound on Baldwin St., to CassaIs Rd. whera it will traval aastbound to Simcoe St. Moving southward on Simcoe te Winchester, the parade than travels east to Anderson where it U11151* enters the fairground at the east gate. A highligbt of the parade this year, MacKinnon says, is that tbey have arranged "something special" for this year. Whitby's famous officiai town crier, Fred Martin, will lead the parade. This year MacKinnon says that at least five bands wifl h marching in the parade, some of them costing the fair board up to $500 for their appearances. Oshawa Shriners- will ha there with their mini-bikes and clowns, always a crowd-pleaser. The parade always features the new Miss Brooklin and the two runners-up in the pageant. A parade isn't complete without floats and in this year's parade there will be both commercial and non-commercial entries. Some of the entries include: Brooklin Brownies and Guides, Meadowcrest and St. Leo's Scbools, Brooklin United Church, Brooklin Library, Town of Whitby, 'Brooklin junior Farmers, Oshawa Garden Service, Group ý'74, Central Lak Ontario Conservation AuthoritY. The projeot was undertaken with the cooperation of the Town of Whitby. The report, "Town of Whitby - Brooklin Sanitary Survev." was released by the Ministry of the Environment on May 4, 1988.
