75th anniversary at old library A ceremony marking the 75th anniversary cf the laying cf the cornerstone of the former Whitby Library building will take place Thursday June 9 at 4 p.m. The, ceremony will recreate the original June 9, 1913 cornerstone laying ceremony which teck place at the samne heur. he original event was described as follews: "The corner stone of the new Carnegie Library was well and truly laid ... with the usual imposing ceremonies..Red white and blue streamers were used te add te the harmony cf the sc ene.
