"Surveys have shown that though the majority of Samurai owners operate their vehicles on the road, these drivers stili appreciate the tough, prôven, go-anywhere performance of Samurai," states Gavin Donaldson, Suzuki's general manager. "As a result, we've made the highway ride slightly softer and more comfortable without compromising the off-road ability of' this vehicle. And Samurai buyers will, obviously appreciate the low purchase price and excellent fuel' economy." The suggested retail price for the base Samurai is $9,995. The latest version features a revised front and rear suspension, upgraded heating and ventilation system, an improved cooling system, modifications to the braking system and new halogen lights set within a redesigned grille. The front suspension now features a reshaped sway bar, a three-leaf spring assembly with slightly lower spring rates and softer shock absorber settings. new unit. The cooling system has been improved by the switch to an aluminium corted radiator versus the former copper construction. The braking system features a T ..... front to rear fluid distriution as opposed to the dià gonal pattern of the '87 model. Similarly in the rear, the four-leaf spring assembly has a lower spring rate along with retuned shock absorbers. The Samurai's new dash has been improved for enhanced readability and accessability. The '88 dash layout features a central instrument cluster housing all ventilation and secondary controls. Speedometer, tach and other essential performance gauges are housed in an attractive, yet functional driver's pod.
