But the Red men came out flying in the third period, and easily raced or passed through the Sarnia squad to score 10 goals to one for Sarnia. Keenan was spectacular, showing bis best offence of the season thus far, scoring three goals and adding eight assists as he and Nieuwendyk dominated on Redmen power plays. Nieuwendyk was also in top form, scoring four goals and adding five assists, one of those assists a quick pass to a teammate for an instant goal that left Sarnia goalie Scott Rhude shaking bis head. Rhude had replaced Bryon Leneve in goal for Sarnia but Leneve later returned to the nets during the Redmen third period onslaught. Defensively, the Redmen were almost impregnable in the third period and won almost every battle for loose halls while outracing their opposition. Dale Kernohan, also outstanding for Redmen, scored three goals, one on an end -to-end rush while his team was shorthanded. Deschner scored four goals, Andy Perroni three, Jeif Garland two and Eric Perroni, Jery Fitzgerald and Begley one each in the contest. Terry Bullen had four assists. Keenan says he and Nieuwendyk had rather slow started to pick up as of late. "Gil's been really filling the net lately," says Keenan. But he rates Blaine Harrison, who didn't play Sunday, as the team's niost consistent player this season. "H-e's always excellent," says Keenan of the Redmen veteran. "He just gets better every year." He admits It's difficuit to prepare yourself mentally" for the weaker opposition in the leapue. are different and have been close victories for Broolin.
