Whitby then bounced back for n. three straight. victories in the n. eight-team provincial final series to earn a spot in the semi-finals. In their second game, Wihitby n'. rode the strong pitching of Milis to defeat Leamington 10-3. Ian Andrew, Jamie Difiore and Chris Mace each had two bits with Tim Imeson, Grylis and Puddister adding one each. Milîs 'Was named MVP for Whitby. Whitby's second victory was a S come-from-behind effort, 11-7 over Hamilton. Brett Rayne smacked a triple and a double and had four runs-batted-in to lead Whitby wbile Difiore had * two bits, including a double. Mike - Doner at second base was a defensive standout for Whitby. Difiore was named MVP. Whitby's third victory came in a rematch against unbeaten Newmarket, and Puddister was dominant in this encounter as he allowed only five bits to pace Whiýtby to a 3-2 decision. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Difiore stole home on a passed bail for the winning edge and a berth in the semi-finafs. Puddister was named MVP. Whitby, facing AAA compe- tition for the first time, defeated Toronto Greenwood 10-9 and then feli to Kitchener 10-0, the first loss of the year for Whitby. WThiitby then downed Windsor 7-2 to gain an encounter wvith Hamilton. Hamilton prevailed 4-1 Town to honor Olympians Plans have yet to be finalized, but The Town of Whitby will honor its Olympic athletes on Saturday, Oct. 15.
