Brophey, president of the Ontario Chamber or Com- merce, will be guest speaker at the 60th anniversary banquet of the Whitby Chamber of Com- merce, Oct. 25. Brophey will speak on '"The Agenda of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, which represents. nearly 160 Chambers of Com- merce throughout Ontario, in making representation to the pro- vincial government. The 60th anniversary ban- quest will be held upstairs at the Garden Gate Restaurant, Cullen Gardens, with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. A special feature of the ban- quet will be the presentation of the Business Person and Student of the Year Awards by the Whit- by Chamber of Commerce. The price of the meal is $21. Anyone wishing to attend is ask- ed to phone the Whitby Chamber of commerce at 668-4506, before Oct. 17 to reserve a place. The Whitby Chamber of Com- merce was founded in the sum- mer of 1928, after the old Board of Trade was revived. Brophey joined Xerox Canada in 1970 as chief financial officer and was appointed as a director of the company in 1974.
